fairies away

Well, I finally have that little extra push to use my fairy stamp, as the dare over at DCM is to include one in your card or scrapbook page!

This fairy is from one of my favorite illustrators: Trina Schart Hyman.

And before I show you the card, here's the inspiration for the layout. I was tearing pages out of a home goods type magazine recently, with the intent of using them for ideas:

Because I decided to use a smaller size card, I only did the three white rectangles. And the fairy is so delicate, I couldn't get anything to look right when I colored her, so I left her as just an outline. The inside is blank, as I'm not sure what I'll use the card for yet.

store update

SALE SALE SALE

My partner Jen is moving to Idaho, so we decided to have a moving sale for the rest of July!

Now, as Jen will be driving and settling in for a while, any crochet orders will take a little time, so plan ahead if you'd like to take advantage of this deal. If there is something at the main store you'd like, send us a note and we'll figure out billing.

Custom orders are always welcome!

redolent

Chip and I went strawberry picking! The farm we went to was loaded, so it only took us an hour to pick a few pounds.

There are several things I'd like to do, but they only lasts for so long fresh, so we had to pick one or two things to use them 'as is' and then freeze or cook the rest. One way to use a couple of cups was strawberry jam. In the microwave.

This was really easy and as a bonus, cleaned out the microwave for us--yea for steam action! I wish I could have shown you it bubbling up as it cooked, but I was too slow and it was done by the time I grabbed the camera.

It tastes pretty good, though I'm used to freezer jam, so it's different. The best part is the large chunks of strawberry!
