jotter

I've been working on making a few new cards, partly to use some of the paper and stamps I already own (instead of lusting after new stuff...). Besides, I just enjoy making cards. The one pictured uses a little sewing to complete the look, and my goodness, it took forever! I'm not a sewer by nature, but I really wanted to try it. And I still want to try some machine sewed cards, and then I think I can successfully say "been there, done that" to that style. It looks cool, but I don't know if it's worth it.

Something else I've been doing is using cancelled postage stamps on my cards. I saved all the snowflake stamps we received on letters during Christmas and made a few cards that have a window on the front with these stamps drifting down in the background. Something I hope to do is make patriotic cards, as I have a ton of flag stamps. For that, I might need to purchase some more red and blue paper (yea! trip to the stamp store!), though I haven't come up with a design yet. Perhaps I should dig out that card Natalie made years ago...hmm....

We've got another all nighter coming up--at least five of us will be stamping and scrapping the night away! I might scrapbook the trip to the Bahamas that Chip and I took last May, as I really am not ready to scrap wedding or honeymoon stuff.

I really hope to get a new digital camera to do more artsy photos like this one.

Wow. Too bad we've got a large body of water between us (and many miles), for my wife would adore making cards with you and your cronies. (a Coven of Cardmakers?)

Here's the comment you so eloquently requested. Be careful what you ask for, Ms. Hama....

You know, we have several family members who enjoy stamping...we'll need to schedule that the next reunion! That would be a lot of fun. For us, anyway.
