We've done special dinners in the past and always enjoy them, so we signed up.
Each course was paired with two wines, to showcase the different ways you can use tastes in the wine to complement the food being served. This was fun, as Chip and I had different opinions about which we liked better with each course.
We started with a soup course, followed by a salad course.
We had a bit of a breather before the main course, which was a good thing, as it was a lot of food (and you had to clean your plate, it was all so tasty)! This one we both liked the red better, as it went with both the couscous and the short rib. The white was perfect for the couscous, but didn't match the meat too well.
Then it was time for dessert! The wine was a slushy, made with a powdered mix they sell at Staller. It tasted a bit like a SweetTart and is the right kind of thing for a hot day. Neither of us liked it with the cake, though: the citruses clashed and each was better off on its own.
Afterward, we went for a short hike at Natureland County Park to work off some of those calories. Perfect!
If you like wine and food, this is an event in which to partake!
