On our way home from Thanksgiving in Missouri, Chip and I decided to pop over to southern Illinois and check out the wine country there. We stayed at a really cool B&B: the Davie School Inn.
This old building has several rooms that have been converted into spacious living areas, yet still have the charm of the old school. We loved all the details left alone, both in the room and in the other areas of the school:
Breakfasts were amazing and served in your room, which meant if you weren't ready to get dressed right away, you didn't have to! The owner has plenty of suggestions of places to eat, things to do and other tips for enjoying the area. The only downside is related to the authenticity: the floors are very creaky! We didn't really have trouble with it, but if you think it would interfere with your stay, get a room on the top floor.
