I'm here to make you feel a little bit better. The following are from various catalogs, and look really artsy and cool, but when you stop to think, they're pretty silly...

Right. Even if you don't have small children, large rolling wheels don't seem all that practical. And as Chip pointed out, you'll have a lot of stubbed toes. Probably spilled drinks, too.
Enjoy whacking your head? You wouldn't be able to get in or out of bed with this lamp...
Sure, these items may look nifty, but are not realistic. Have you seen any silly setups in magazines you've received lately?
