I got to pick the next Team WIST challenge theme this round, so I went for 'beach'. Since Patriotic Wryn won, I'm the judge this time, so my entry isn't official--it's just for fun.
I knew I wanted to incorporate some sandpaper and also decided I really wanted to make the background watercolored, with a few embellishments. Then it was a matter of pulling out my shell stamps and picking one to use as the focal point.
Remember the starfish story? That's what I was thinking of when I settled on the following layout:
I used four colors of Distress Ink--Faded Denim, Weathered Wood, Broken China and Tumbled Glass. Then I used a little white paint on the edges of the paper and sandpaper to simulate foam. The starfish is stamped in black and that rectangle pops out a little for dimensional interest.
