He actually picked this cake out last year, but then we had a big party instead, and decided to go with cupcakes, instead of the usual three-tiered business. I was glad he picked the lemon-poppy seed cake with almond-cream cheese frosting, as this was the very first one I made out of the cake book years ago. It was amazing.
